Cliff Sze

Cliff C. N. Sze, Ph.D.

Cliff Sze is currently a technical lead / engineering manager at Google. Previously, he was a research staff member at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center and the Austin Research Laboratory.

Dr. Sze filed more than 100 patent applications and was granted over 90 patents. His research interests include the design and analysis of algorithms in order to solve a wide range of practical problems such as security, e-commerce, healthcare analytics, cancer radiation therapy, and electronic design automation. He received his bachelor and master degrees from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and his Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Texas A&M University.

As the senior members of IEEE and ACM, Dr. Cliff Sze has been actively serving the academic/research community, for example, serving as the general chair and technical program committee chair of International Symposium on Physical Design, and being appointed as an associate editor for ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems (TODAES).  He is a recipient of the ACM Special Interest Group on Design Automation (SIGDA) technical leadership award.
